Animal Planet Stampede & Expo Rolls Into Germantown

Discovery's Animal Planet, the "All Animals, All The Time" cable network recently joined with the American Humane Association (AHA) to create the modern-day Animal Planet Rescue. The program features an 82-foot rolling rescue rig, equipped to handle any kind of natural disaster. Animal Planet rescue is a touring educational, entertainment center that spreads the word to communities about how to prepare for and handle the care of their animals during disasters. On Saturday, June 29th, its destination was the Maryland SoccerPlex.
At each stop on the truck's educational tour schedule, the public is welcomed into the Animal Planet Expo, a 15,000-square-foot interactive experience that gives visitors information about Animal Planet programming along with other informative animal facts. The local community came out with leashes in hand to tour the 82-foot rig, learn about the services of local animal groups, and participate in exciting animal trivia games for fun prizes. The SoccerPlex served as the perfect site for both the Expo and the Animal Planet Stampede, offering participants and their pets beautiful scenery and a challenging course for the run. MSF is looking forward to making the Animal Planet Expo an annual event.
